Karim is an Associate Director of Engagement Management at Opower where he oversees teams responsible for the success of a diverse account portfolio representing utilities across the United States and Canada.  Opower's technology is transforming the way utilities relate to their customers and has already saved consumers over 1 billion dollars and prevented the release of over 12 billion pounds of CO2. By combining data management, insightful analytics, and behavioral science, Opower's customer engagement platform positions utilities as trusted energy advisors to the customers they serve.

Prior to joining Opower, Karim worked at Bridgespan helping mission-driven organizations develop their strategies and organizational capacity to deliver meaningful results against society’s most pressing problems.  At Bridgespan, he worked on everything from combating youth unemployment to California water issues.
Karim started his career as a civil engineer and environmental scientist. He has a PhD in Ecology from Stanford and undergraduate degrees in engineering and biology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  In addition to serving as a Regional Director for the National Audubon Society, he continues to serve on the board of his local chapter, Golden Gate Audubon Society.
