In April 2025, Dean and Sally’s travels took them to Malaysia on the island of Borneo. The third largest island in the world, Borneo has rainforests over twice as old as the Amazon rainforest with many endemic species such as orangutans and proboscis monkeys. Come see and hear about their adventures with the birds, butterflies, and other natural wonders in this increasingly popular ecotourism spot in southeast Asia.

Dean and Sally Jue have watched birds together ever since they met over 50 years ago as Zoology graduate students at the University of Michigan. Since moving to Tallahassee in 1987, they became active in Apalachee Audubon and the Florida Ornithological Society (FOS), serving as officers and committee members of both. After retiring in 2016 from Florida State University’s Institute of Science and Public Affairs and the Florida Natural Areas Inventory, they have enjoyed traveling to faraway places to experience the Earth’s biodiversity.
