Trinity River Audubon Center Trails are open! With the trails open on a limited basis, please be prepared for some changes:

  • Registration: Advance ticket purchase is required. To reduce chances of Covid-19 spread, we will be limiting visitors to timed entry at each hour  (ex. 9am, 10am, etc.) You must arrive and check in within 15 minutes of your entry time. Please note that 12pm is the last time slot for ticket purchase.
  • Check-In Required: You will need to show your ticket at the front desk to enter the property.
  • Masks: We are a City of Dallas facility. In accordance with the city's policy, we ask you to wear a mask, especially when checking in and passing people on the ramps and trails.
  • Hours: Wednesday – Friday: 9am – 2pm; Saturday: 8am – 2pm (Gates close promptly at 2pm.)  Beginning in 2022, we will be open the first Sunday of each month (January 2, February 6, March 6, April 3 and May 1) from 8am - 2pm.
  • Water: Please provide your own water bottle.
  • Social Distancing: Please maintain 6-foot distance from people not in your group.
  • Groups: No groups over 10 people.
  • Changes: As data and parameters change, we will adjust as needed to accommodate the needs of our staff, volunteers, and visitors. Trail open hours may be adjusted - be sure to check park hours before you visit.

Trinity River Audubon Center recognizes the challenges of our current situation. We ask for your patience and support in following these new guidelines for your visit.

Do I have to wear a mask? What about my kids? In accordance with Dallas County orders, we strongly encourage our guests to wear a mask during their visit.

Why do you have reduced hours? Like other organizations, Trinity River Audubon Center has had a reduction in staff due to COVID-19 and decreased revenue. We will have reduced hours to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff. We will revisit the current schedule at a later date.

Why is advanced purchase required as well as timed entry? Trinity River Audubon Center takes the COVID-19 health and safety measures very seriously. By purchasing a ticket in advance and at a designated time, we are able to manage the flow of cars and number of people onsite at regular intervals to ensure the safety of all visitors.

We appreciate your understanding and compliance. You can continue to reach the staff via e-mail at or by phone at (214) 309-5801.
