Ornithological Summary

Largest fall concentration of Sandhill Cranes in Michigan. Their numbers have increased in recent years duing passage, which may relate to the change in use at Walkinshaw wetlands. This site is important for breeding also. It has the first modern breeding record for Calhoun County, Michigan.
