Ornithological Summary

When playas are full, large numbers of waterfowl and shorebirds migrate through. In winter large numbers of waterfowl use the playas. Grasslands can be productive for sparrows especially Grasshopper Sparrow in breeding season.

Conservation Issues

Conversion of grassland to agriculture. Dredging or degrading the playas.
