Conservation Issues
Improper mowing regimes could decimate nest success, while conversion of grazing pasture to row crop would remove habitat. Work needed to properly assess the severity of these threats. Use of NRCS or MDNRE LIP funding to create habitat on as many privately-owned plots would be highly advantageous to Henslow's Sparrow and other grassland species.
