The Laramie Greenbelt is a willow cottonwood riparian habitat along a corridor of the Little Laramie River. The Greenbelt is located in Albany County within the Laramie city limits. It is a popular walk, hike, bike path construcyed by the city of Laramie and the Union Pacific Railroad.

Ornithological Summary

The area supports many high conservation priority species and represents a unique habitat within the high altitude grassland plains surrounding Laramie. This site is important for Wyoming birds because of the access to the Laramie River and the dedictation of the area to undeveloped or native habitat park lands.

Conservation Issues

A portion of the Greenbelt was a former Union Pacific Tie Plant. The UPRR has cleaned up the old plant by restoring the river habitat and planting over 8000 trees and installing a bike path.
