Urilia Bay is located along the northern coast of Unimak Island between Cape Mordvinof and Cape Lapin. This site includes two coastal lagoons with eel grass and barrier sand spits. The habitat is mostly wet sedge/grass marsh with many lakes and aquatic vegetation.

Ornithological Summary

Urilia Bay is an important site for wintering and staging waterfowl, such as the Cackling Goose and the Tundra Swan.

Until more specific data become available, however, this site is PENDIGN GLOBAL/CONTINENTAL status.

Conservation Issues

Potential for contamination by oil from commercial fishing vessels and barge traffic.
