Fast flowing river through transitional northern hardwood forest, in the southwest portion of the Manistee National Forest.

Ornithological Summary

This IBA supports around 25 pairs of Cerulean Warblers annually, verified by kayak surveys in 1999 and 2007.

Habitat

Dominated by lowland floodplain deciduous canopy forest, with smaller pockets of shrub and wetland intermixed. Above the river bottom is oak and northern hardwood association.
