A reclaimed stripmine with appoximately 35% open grassland, 8% brushland and 57% woodland. This site has very high populations of several area-sensitive grassland species. 19,050 acres = 7709.54 hectares

THe site has very high populations of several area-sensitive grassland species. It also supports exceptional concentrations of migratory landbirds.
Conservation Issues
This reclaimed stripmine contains large expanses of contiguous grassland, which is rare in Ohio. Invasive shrubs and forbs pose a serious threat tothe grassland habitat on this site. Ohio Division of Wildlife staff works to suppress invasives and maintain open grassland.
