Green Mountain Audubon Center Policies

Help us steward the lands of the Audubon Center so that birds, wildlife, and visitors can enjoy them for years to come.

Trail Rules

The Green Mountain Audubon Center trails are free and open every day from dawn until dusk. For groups of 10 or more people, please visit our Group Experiences page.

  • Please stay on the trails when enjoying the property. 
  • Swimming is not considered normal trail use. Wade or swim at your own risk. Do not climb down river banks. 
  • Please leave no trace and observe a "Carry-In/Carry-Out" trash policy.  Please bring along a trash bag to take waste and recyclables with you when you leave. 
  • Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a leash and under control at all times. Please clean up and pack out your dog's waste.
  • No camping or fires permitted on the property. 
  • The Audubon Center is an alcohol, smoke, and drug-free establishment. 
  • Please be respectful of our designated education spaces and their materials. Audubon's education programs have priority of these spaces, so respectfully depart when we arrive. 
  • Park only in designated lots. Please do not park along Main Road or Sherman Hollow Road.  
  • Parking areas are not monitored; leave belongings at your own risk. 
  • No motorized vehicles or bikes on trails.
