Bus Tours at the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary

Group bus tours at the Audubon Center at Riverlands offer a world-class wildlife viewing experience at an internationally recognized Important Bird Area (IBA). Located along the Great Rivers Confluence, the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary is a central stopover along Mississippi Flyway, which is used by 60 percent of all migratory birds in North America. Our accessible building ensures an enjoyable experience for all visitors. As you embark on your tour, our knowledgeable staff will educate you on the history and conservation efforts of the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary as well as the many migratory birds we receive. Discover the best spots to view birds, like the Bald Eagle, American White Pelican, Trumpeter Swan, Eurasian Tree Sparrow and many more!

Please note: (1) We reserve a 10-person, or $50, minimum for our tours.  Payment can be made upon arrival. (2) We reserve the right to cancel and/or reschedule a bus tour for projected inclement weather; If temperatures drop to unsafe conditions, the bus tour booker will be contacted to reschedule.

• Bus Tour Details
  • Bus must be provided by tour group and is accompanied by Audubon staff.
  • Personalized guidance through the center and exhibits, including birding and use of our high-powered telescopes.
  • Enjoy a 12-minute movie screening about Riverlands.
  • Throughout the tour, your educator will stop along the way to show you the best places to view birds.
  • Length: approximately 1.5 hours long
• What will you see?
  • Winter: Bald Eagles and Trumpeter Swans
  • Spring and Fall Migration: Songbirds & Shorebirds 
  • Chances for viewing wildlife are increased in the mornings. However, we cannot guarantee specific wildlife sightings.
• Tour Fees  
  • $5/person with leaders, chaperones, bus drivers and/or teachers being free.
