Hog Island Scholarships

Financial aid is available for most camp sessions!

Hog Island Audubon Camp is dedicated to connecting people with nature. That’s why we award several scholarships each year to make our programs more financially accessible. Most scholarships are valued at $500, but awards vary depending on the number and needs of our applicants. All scholarship recipients must serve as Hog Island ‘Ambassadors’ by sharing about their camp experience after their participation. This requirement can be fulfilled by presenting at a local Audubon chapter or bird club or writing a blog post or article within one year of their camp experience.

Two scholarship opportunities are currently available:

  • National Audubon Society Ambassador Scholarship – This scholarship is open to anyone with financial need who wants to attend one of our camp sessions.
  • BIPOC Scholarship – This scholarship is open to people who identify as members of the Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC) community.

How to Apply for a 2026 Scholarship:

  1. Scholarship applications opened with camp registration on November 17, 2025, and will be due on January 31, 2026.
  2. Applicants must register for camp and pay a $100 deposit to hold their spot in the program for which they are applying, since many sessions tend to fill up quickly
  3. Applicants should not pay the entire tuition amount until they have received notice from Hog Island about their awarded amount.
  4. Scholarship decisions will be announced by the end of February 2026 and applied to the CampDoc accounts of the recipients.
  5. Scholarship recipients will be expected to complete their registration forms and pay the remaining account balance no later than one month prior to their camp session.
