About the Audubon Center at Beidler Forest

Beidler Forest has stood for over a thousand years, come step back in time with us.

Located in the Four Holes Swamp watershed near Harleyville, South Carolina, Audubon's Francis Beidler Forest is home to a habitat unique to Earth—the world's largest original-growth, cypress-tupelo swamp. With trees more than 1,000 years old and a 1.75-mile, ADA-accessible boardwalk (the longest continuous boardwalk in South Carolina), this crown jewel of the South Carolina Lowcounty is a must-see.

While you're enjoying the boardwalk, make sure to stop by the gift shop on your way out for the unique and niche gift items for that "one" friend or family member who does not subscribe to the mainstream interests. Our store has locally made items, and very niche and hard to find nature themed gifts, as well as Beidler Forest merch. Don't be caught on the birding trails without your Beidler flare!
