Young Professional Conservation Corps

Young professionals (ages 18 through 28) are invited to join our Young Professionals Conservation Corps! Members of this volunteer program get the opportunity to participate in conservation actions across the Hudson Valley, including:

  • Forest, marsh, and grassland bird surveys
  • Forestry health inventories
  • Deer and invasive species monitoring studies
  • Marsh migration and climate change research
  • Environmental education

As volunteer members participate in field work, they will learn more about bird identification, plant and tree identification, climate change models, GIS mapping, scientific communication, statistical analysis, and much more. No previous experience or knowledge is required—just a passion for the environment, a positive attitude, and an enjoyment of outdoor work!

Program opportunities take place at our Hudson Valley Audubon sanctuaries at Constitution Marsh Audubon Center and Sanctuary in Putnam County, Buttercup Farm Audubon Sanctuary in Dutchess County, Rheinstrom Hill Audubon Center and Sanctuary in Columbia County, and Ramshorn-Livingston Audubon Center and Sanctuary in Greene County.

This volunteer program provides a safe and supportive space for you to learn about the environment, participate in conservation work, build your resume or college applications, and meet peers.
