A Hub for Nature and Education

Grange Insurance Audubon Center is a hub for stewardship and education. The center offers free admission to all and lots of ways to engage daily. Visitors can learn about birds and native plants, explore our rotating art exhibits, and much more! 

The center is open to the public every day except Mondays, and excluding some holidays. Please note that leashed pets are allowed inside the center and on the grounds.  Pet owners are responsible for their pets. There are 96 free, dedicated self-parking spaces in the lot immediately adjacent to the center.  General parking lot hours are the same as Scioto Audubon Metro Park’s hours (April 1-September 30: 6:30 am-10:00 pm, October 1-March 31: 6:30 am-8:00 pm). Overnight parking is not permitted. Handicap accessible parking spaces are marked and available. Additionally, there are overflow parking areas located throughout the park. Please ensure you lock your vehicle and secure all personal items, as we are not responsible for any lost items.

Please note that the center does not sell food and beverages (including water) of any kind. Please plan accordingly.

Check out Free Explorer Supplies 

Borrow binoculars, Ohio Bird Guides or an Adventure/Discovery Backpack and head outside for your own nature experience.  We even have seasonal bird bingo cards if you feel like birding with a purpose! 

Hike the Trails of the Scioto Audubon Metro Park 

The Scioto Audubon Metro Park offers 119 acres of green space for recreation and educational purposes.  Three main trails: Scioto Greenway, Hermit Thrush, and Connector offer 0.1 to 10 miles of paved/mulched hiking options. 

Go Birding!  

The park boasts close to 200 bird species within the IBA (Important Bird Area)!  Check out our indoor bird photo display featuring almost 200 bird species sighted within the IBA at least three times color coaded by the season they are most likely seen in the park.  Pick up a Bird Scavenger Hunt to experience this Bird Display. 

Check Out Art at Audubon! 

Enjoy free art exhibitions that change every two months, attend an art opening reception to meet featured artists, sign up for a painting workshop, or spend some time making art with our featured artist-in-residence.

The Grange Insurance Audubon Center is one of the most unique event spaces in central Ohio, offering spectacular city views and beautiful natural landscapes.  The Center is centrally located in the Scioto Audubon Metro Park, just five miles south of downtown Columbus. Whether you need space for a wedding, corporate function, training, family reunion, fundraiser, or conference, the Grange Insurance Audubon Center provides not only the latest in audiovisual capabilities, but a beautiful natural backdrop perfect for group or wedding photos.
