Bows for Birds

Get involved with this area scavenger hunt!

Find Them All!

Everyone is invited to participate in Bows for Birds, the only bird-themed scavenger hunt of its kind in the St. Louis region! We challenge individuals, families, and friends to have fun, get outdoors, and learn about birds by finding a designated Bows for Bird at 12 parks and natural areas across the Metro!

Each location will have a Bows for Birds station marked with a prominent bow, map, and clues that will lead to a designated bird – a painted wooden cutout of a species that would normally be found at that site. Each cutout will contain field guide info about that bird and the surrounding park or natural area.

Once the designated Bows for Bird is found, participants are encouraged to post a photo of the bird with the Bows for Birds # hashtag. Next, participants should complete and submit their finding to enter the Bow for Birds Raffle Contest drawing for fabulous prizes. See if you can find all 12 Bows for Birds by February 8th! We will announce the Bows for Birds raffle prize winners during the Great Backyard Bird Count Training and Kickoff in mid-February.

Remember to submit your entries by Sunday, February 8th, 2026!
