The Audubon Center at Debs Park aims to be a trusted community hub where people and nature come together to protect the spaces birds need, restore native habitats, and inspire environmental stewardship. Through hands-on conservation, community partnerships, advocacy, and a wide range of community programs, we empower people to care for the natural world while building healthy, resilient communities. As the first center established by the National Audubon Society within an urban area to specifically engage the local community, we continue to cultivate a more diverse, inclusive, and community-powered conservation movement across Los Angeles.
Our programs inspire people of all ages to explore, understand, and care for nature, beginning in their own neighborhoods. From restoring native habitats for birds and other wildlife to making California native plants accessible to community members, our work demonstrates how local action creates lasting environmental change.
