Discover adventure, birds, and how to make a difference at an Audubon center.

1800 Upper Canyon Road, Santa Fe, NM 87501

February-December:

Open Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm

December 22-January 31:

Closed

Parking is free but limited. Please carpool when possible.

We have a main lot available for public parking. The upper lot is sometimes restricted to accommodate school busses during our field trip season (September-November, and April-May). Organized groups, busses, and passenger vans must reach out ahead of time to make arrangements.

Please note that some cell phone carriers do not provide service at the Center. Please plan ahead if you plan to use a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft.

There is a reserved parking pad available next to the classroom, accessed from the upper parking lot. A second handicap spot is next to the Henderson Pavilion for private events or closer access to the treehouse (available upon request).

Please feel free to reach out ahead of time if there’s additional accommodations that would help support your visit.

Check out the current weather at our center.  During winter months, hazardous driving conditions may force us to close for the day or to delay opening in the morning.

We follow Santa Fe Public Schools for winter weather delays and closures. Please note that our dirt road is often icy and snowpacked and takes longer to get plowed than other locations in Santa Fe. Four-wheel drive is recommended when the road is icy and snowy. If in doubt, please schedule your visit for another day.

Visitors may access both the Audubon property, as well as the Santa Fe Canyon preserve from our parking lot. Additional parking for the Canyon Preserve is available at the intersection of Cerro Gordo and Upper Canyon Road (0.5 miles down the road from RDAC).
