Dogwood Canyon is home to more than 100 bird species, including migratory and residential. This habitat benefits our year-round residents and winter and spring migrants, some of which are endangered or threatened species. We invite you to join one of our bird walks, watch birds at our birdfeeders or venture out on your own. We also encourage you to list your bird sightings on eBird.

eBird

After exploring the center, you can enter your bird sightings with eBird. Your observations are added to others in the eBird database that scientists and communities use to understand more about bird distributions.

eBird was developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society. It enables anyone to enter bird sightings from anywhere in North America and explore the results.

You have the option to accurately map your observations on a large-scale map of the center. Every time you notice a bird, you hold a piece of a puzzle. By sharing your bird sighting with others through eBird, you'll make it possible to complete the picture we need to better understand and protect birds well into the future.
