Avak Kahramanian is joining Audubon after spending the last five years in Ethiopia, where he served as an educator with the Peace Corps. As a Fund II Apprentice, Kahramanian will focus on policy and government affairs. After serving in Ethiopia, Avak worked out of the Peace Corps Headquarters in Washington D.C. Kahramanian joins the Government Affairs team with Capitol Hill experience for his home state Senator from Michigan. He hopes to help with advocacy efforts, research, and coordination. His interests lie in the intersection of environmental issues and foreign policy. Kahramanian is also pursuing his Masters degree at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington D.C.
