Audubon Prepares for Long Road Ahead of Cleaning Up Pruitt’s Messes

Scott Pruitt’s tenure was full of corruption and pollution. Now that he’s gone, the people and birds of the United States deserve a trustworthy EPA Administrator.

WASHINGTON—“Stepping down is the best decision Scott Pruitt has made while at the EPA,” said David Yarnold (@david_yarnold), Audubon’s president and CEO, in response to Scott Pruitt’s resignation as EPA Administrator.

“Scott Pruitt failed at this job because he didn’t know the difference between right and wrong. It’s wrong to lie and steal and pollute the waters and lands we protect for our children. It’s right to live by the truth and to treasure nature’s gifts. America deserves an EPA Administrator who holds these principles in their soul.”

The National Audubon Society protects birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow, throughout the Americas using science, advocacy, education and on-the-ground conservation. Audubon's state programs, nature centers, chapters and partners have an unparalleled wingspan that reaches millions of people each year to inform, inspire and unite diverse communities in conservation action. Since 1905, Audubon's vision has been a world in which people and wildlife thrive. Audubon is a nonprofit conservation organization.
