Amanda manages the outreach and education programs at Rowe Sanctuary, working with partners and educators to provide hands-on learning experiences for visitors. Since joining the Rowe team in 2024, she has focused on developing new educational opportunities and programs for all ages while curating outreach efforts for Crane Season.
Originally from central Nebraska, Amanda graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she studied environmental studies and natural resource sciences with focuses on environmental education. She loves the intersection between conservation and storytelling, as well as connecting agriculturalists with conservation efforts. With a deep appreciation for river ecosystems and grasslands, returning to the Platte River region has been a natural transition.
Before joining Rowe Sanctuary, Amanda’s previous experience was spent in the Nebraska Sandhills working at The Nature Conservancy’s Niobrara Valley Preserve. There, she conducted research on post-wildfire recovery, led the outreach program, and assisted with land stewardship, including bison roundup and prescribed fire. Her favorite bird species are Sharp-tailed grouse, Common nighthawks, and Turkey vultures.
