Anne Troyer

Senior Coordinator, Outreach
About

Anne Troyer is the Senior Coordinator of Outreach at Audubon’s Rowe Sanctuary. She grew up on a farm near Shickley, Nebraska, a small town in south-central Nebraska. It was there that Anne developed her love for the natural world, spending much of her childhood exploring the outdoors and helping in her family’s garden.

After graduating from Shickley High School in 2008, Anne moved out of state to attend Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana, where she earned a B.A. in Bible, Religion, and Philosophy with a minor in Women’s Studies in 2013.

Feeling a deep connection to the land, Anne returned to Nebraska soon after graduation and joined Rowe Sanctuary as a seasonal technician in 2015. Since then, she has worked on a wide variety of projects, including volunteer coordination, native plant seed collection, prescribed fire management, and educational programming for both adults and children. She has also been involved in eco-tourism efforts surrounding the annual Sandhill Crane migration—one of Nebraska’s most celebrated natural events.

In her current role, Anne focuses on increasing community engagement with the Platte River and its surrounding habitats throughout central Nebraska. Her favorite part of the job is sharing her passion for nature with others.

Anne lives in central Nebraska with her pets, where she enjoys gardening, hiking, and birding in her free time.
