Ashley Seufzer
Ashley Seufzer is the Working Lands Program Manager with Audubon California, where she leads habitat incentive programs, restoration projects, and conservation initiatives on private lands across the Central Valley. Based in the Sacramento Valley, she joined Audubon California in 2022 as a Senior Program Coordinator and now oversees the BirdReturns Wetland Program, which partners with private landowners to create critical seasonal wetland habitat. Through this work, she helps ensure thousands of acres of wetlands remain available for migratory birds and other wildlife throughout the year.
Originally from rural Wisconsin, Ashley has dedicated her career to the intersection of working landscapes and wildlife conservation. She has experience in agricultural research, forestry, and habitat management, with a strong interest in how land management can support biodiversity and vice versa. Before joining Audubon, she worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture while completing her master’s degree in environmental conservation. She is particularly passionate about bridging the gap between science and on-the-ground conservation efforts, working closely with landowners to create solutions that benefit both wildlife and working lands.
Outside of work, Ashley enjoys hiking, birding (no surprise there!), and discovering new adventures across California. She’s always on the lookout for the next great birding spot or scenic trail.
