Brian earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida with a focus on ecology, evolutionary, and conservation biology. After college, he worked seasonally, conducting bird research in the eastern grasslands of Montana, on an island off the coast of southern Maine and on various projects throughout South Florida. In his current role as the Shorebird Stewardship Coordinator in the Florida Panhandle, he works with staff, volunteers, and partners of the Florida Shorebird Alliance to protect the state’s imperiled beach-nesting birds, like the Least Tern and Black Skimmer. In his free time, he enjoys staying active, birding the coast, and watching films at his local theater.
