Ériu (Erin) Martinez, Coordinator for Wild Indigo Nature Explorations, has been living and working in Detroit for 18 years. As a coordinator, she works to co-develop outdoor programming with communities in Detroit that support more people in spending time outside and building relationships of care with the land and water, other living beings, and with one another. She is an artist, arts-infused educator, and experiential learning facilitator specializing in emergent curricula and place-based education.
Ériu brings expertise in outdoor learning as a certified Forest School teacher, director, and trainer through the Forest School Teacher Institute. She is also a Michigan Master Naturalist, certified ANFT Forest Therapy Guide, and NOLS Wilderness First Responder. Ériu is dedicated to supporting people of all ages, abilities, and identities through the processes of developing and activating their curiosity, self-determination, and agency on their outdoor learning paths.
In her spare time, Ériu enjoys wild swimming, sailing, kayaking, biking, and dancing, and can often be found cuddling with her multitude of dogs.
