Helen Dishaw leads the Center for Birds of Prey’s rehabilitation programs. She comes to the Center from Utah with vast expertise and experience with birds and other wildlife. Over the past three decades she has worked with a variety of animals, including primates, exotic cats, free-flight birds of many species, and many other mammals and reptiles — learning from them as she teaches them to voluntarily participate in inspirational programs as well as their own care.
Helen's primary focus is on constantly improving the welfare of birds in human care and creating experiences that connect humans to the animals we share our planet with. One of Helen’s greatest achievements was her 12-year partnership with “Andy N. Condor,” a beloved ambassador Andean Condor at Tracy Aviary in Utah. She has been a board member of the International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators (IAATE) since 2008.
