Jared Milrad is the Senior Director of Leadership Giving for the West Coast at the National Audubon Society, where he leads high-level donor strategy and engagement from Alaska to California to advance Audubon’s hemispheric mission across climate, biodiversity, and habitat protection. He partners with principal donors and senior leaders on six-to-eight-figure gifts and serves as a strategic advisor on bold international campaigns. Jared also co-chairs Audubon’s Queer Employee Resource Group, helping drive national fundraising efforts and culture change across the organization.
With over two decades of impact across the White House, Hollywood, national nonprofits, and social ventures, Jared brings a unique blend of strategic vision, storytelling, and public leadership to his work. A committed champion of environmental and social justice, he previously founded an award-winning nonprofit promoting inclusion in Hollywood; led initiatives with HBO Max, TIME Studios, the Biden Administration, and major studios; worked for President Barack Obama; and served as an executive at Brady United Against Gun Violence.
Jared holds a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, an M.S. in Animals and Public Policy from Tufts University, and a B.S. with highest honors in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences from North Carolina State University. He lives in Palm Springs, CA with his rescue dog Dolly and is passionate about equity, queer visibility, and social impact. He is also the author of several books and poetry collections, and the writer/director of multiple award-winning films. In his free time, Jared enjoys traveling, wildlife watching, creative writing, singing, and filmmaking.
