Jeff Liechty

Jeff serves as sanctuary manager at Florida Coastal Islands Sanctuaries, where he works with partners to conserve waterbirds in Tampa Bay and across Southwest Florida. His work focuses on protecting colonial waterbirds by managing and restoring nesting islands and monitoring bird populations. Before joining Audubon Florida in 2017, Jeff conducted avian fieldwork across the U.S. and internationally. He holds a master’s degree in Marine and Environmental Biology from Nicholls State University.
