Jessica Hoey

Jessica Hoey is the Vice President of Conservation Action for Chapters at the National Audubon Society, where she leads national strategies to strengthen Audubon’s network of chapters and volunteers in advancing conservation and community engagement. She works closely with staff and volunteer leaders across the country to build organizational capacity, foster collaboration, and empower local conservation action.

Jessica brings more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning national and international nonprofits, state government, and community-based organizations. Throughout her career, she has specialized in building high-performing teams, leading organizational change, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding public engagement. Prior to joining Audubon, she worked at the Missouri Department of Conservation, where she established and led the agency’s first Relevancy Branch to broaden participation in conservation and strengthen connections with diverse communities. Her career also includes executive leadership roles in community action, domestic violence prevention, youth development, and public affairs.

Jessica holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Drake University. She believes lasting conservation success depends on strong communities, engaged volunteers, and authentic partnerships. Jess is proud to support Audubon’s mission as a conservation organization powered by birds, working alongside chapters and communities to create a healthier future for birds, people, and the places we all depend on.
