Karime López Díaz, who joined Audubon in 2025, is a biodiversity communicator with over 15 years of experience in communication strategies, science outreach, and environmental education with a focus on social justice. She currently serves as Communications Coordinator for the Conserva Aves program at Audubon, where she leads the regional narrative to promote the conservation of birds and their habitats across Latin America and the Caribbean.

A biologist by training, with a master’s degree in Educational Research and a specialization in Environmental Education, Karime has built a career focused on transforming scientific knowledge into accessible messages, with special interest in advancing gender equity, environmental justice, and community participation. She has been recognized as one of the 100 Women Leaders of Morelos, Mexico, for her work in social and environmental communication.

In addition to her institutional role, she is the founder of the podcast Científicas Mexicanas, a writer for various print media outlets in Mexico, and an active promoter of scientific culture. Her professional mission is to contribute to the protection of biodiversity by connecting science, community, and communication through a critical, sensitive, and transformative lens.
