About

Marcos joined Audubon in May of 2024 as Center Director for Rowe Sanctuary.  In this role, he oversees the Iain Nicolson Audubon Center and the 3,000 protected acres of the sanctuary, including habitat management, visitor experience and education programs.  

Marcos has spent his career with organizations dedicated to conservation, environmental education, and science education. His professional experience includes zoo, museum, higher education, and nature center settings. Prior to joining Audubon, he was the Assistant Executive Director and Director of Environmental Education Outreach at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College for more than seven years. In addition, he served as faculty member, instructing graduate courses in Environmental Education at Goshen College.  

Marcos graduated with majors in Biology and Environmental Studies from Goshen College and completed a Masters in Nonprofit Management from Hamline University. He is passionate about sharing the wonders of the natural world with others and equipping organizations to reach their full potential. In his free time he enjoys gardening, woodworking, ultimate frisbee, and spending time with his spouse and two children.
