Matthew Skarie

Matthew Skarie is the Field Supervisor at Audubon Starr Ranch Sanctuary in Southern California. He supervises the field crew that controls weeds with non-chemical methods to improve habitat on the sanctuary for birds and other wildlife. The crew also helps in the restoration and monitoring of critical habitat such as coastal sage scrub, grasslands, and oak woodlands on the over 4000-acre property. Matthew has worked at Starr Ranch since 2011, originally as a seasonal staff member before being hired on permanently in 2014. Outside of work, Matthew enjoys hiking and golfing.
