Meghan joined the Audubon team as the Spring Creek Prairie Center Director in September 2018. Meghan’s career has been focused on collaborative community-based natural resource conservation. Prior to joining Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center, Meghan’s professional experience includes roles with UNL Extension, the Lower Platte River Corridor Alliance, the National Drought Mitigation Center, the University of Nebraska Environmental Studies Program and School of Natural Resources as well as the National Park Service’s Midwest Archeological Center. Meghan holds a dual B.A. in Environmental Studies and Anthropology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a Master of Science in Natural Resources with graduate minors in Environmental Planning & Political Science and a Graduate Certificate Public Policy Analysis from UNL.
Meghan spent much of her childhood exploring her family’s tallgrass prairie, “just over the hill” from Spring Creek Prairie, which undoubtedly sparked her love and appreciation of our amazing natural resources and those who steward those resources. Meghan currently serves as a member of Lancaster County Extension Board and as the Treasurer of the Friends of the State Museum Board. In her free time Meghan enjoys all things outdoors, cycling, cooking, reading and watching her beloved St Louis Cardinals and Huskers compete. Meghan lives in Lincoln with her spouse, Molly, and two terriers named Luka & Baker.
