Robert Kenny brings more than 20 years of conservation leadership experience to his role as Vice President, Delta. In this position, he develops and implements strategy across Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi—the continent's largest freshwater watershed and most critical flyway for biodiversity—managing a team of 43 staff focused on coastal marshland restoration, grassland management, and working lands initiatives.
His experience spans tropical forests, freshwater ecosystems, grassland restoration, and coastal management across Latin America, Southeast Asia, West Africa, and South Asia. He recently led Forestry and Natural Resource Management programs across Asia and Africa as part of Winrock International. As Chief of Party of the $21M Amazon Indigenous Rights and Resources program, he partnered with Indigenous communities on governance and livelihood initiatives. Previously, he was Senior Manager of Sustainability at Walmart, where he created global environmental, agriculture, and women's empowerment programs. Earlier in his career, he was deeply immersed in sustainable forestry management and protected area management activities in the neotropics.
Native to Bolivia and fluent in Spanish, Robert brings cultural fluency and the ability to work effectively across cultures, political contexts, and institutional landscapes. He holds a Master of Forestry from Yale University and a Bachelor of Science in Political Economy of Natural Resources from UC Berkeley. His leadership reflects expertise in creating and managing successful teams, translating complex conservation challenges into strategic approaches, and building trust with partners and communities.
