Sasha Gottlieb

Sasha Gottlieb is senior director for Western Hemisphere Conservation Policy at the National Audubon Society, where she leads a unified hemispheric strategy in support of Audubon’s Flight Plan. Based in Washington, D.C., she focuses on policy solutions that protect critical habitats and support migratory birds across the Americas.

She brings over two decades of experience in international conservation policy and program leadership. Most recently, Sasha spent 14 years with the USDA Forest Service’s International Programs office, directing multi-million-dollar initiatives on forest conservation, climate resilience, and natural resource management in more than 25 countries. Her work has brought together governments, international organizations, and research institutions, including NASA, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the World Bank, to translate science into policy and strengthen national climate reporting systems under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Earlier, she managed natural resource management programs with the Organization of American States and served as technical coordinator for a Global Environment Facility-funded initiative across 13 Caribbean countries, focused on integrated watershed and coastal area management through a portfolio of demonstration projects. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, friends, and dogs.
