The entry period for the third annual Audubon Magazine Photo Awards is officially open. With the warmer weather here to stay, it’s the perfect time to get outside and take some bird pics. Or send us some of the best shots you’ve already taken but haven’t submitted previously.
This year’s awards still offer professionals, amateurs, and youth the chance to enter. But we’ve added a new category in each: Birds in their habitat. (Don’t worry about placing your entry into the appropriate category; the judges will take care of it.) Now, even more opportunities to win amazing prizes, like a nature cruise to the Galapagos, trips to Peru and Belize, and more.
For the next several weeks, we’ll be featuring some of last year’s winning images on our Facebook page, so check them out at facebook.com/audubonmagazine. This year’s entry period ends Sept. 5, 2011. Go to audubonmagazinephotoawards.org for complete rules and information on how to enter.“The views expressed in user comments do not reflect the views of Audubon.
