The 31st meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will take place in Antalya, Türkiye from November 9-20, 2026. As the world comes together around the actions needed to address the climate crisis, the decisions made at COP31 will determine our ability to protect both birds, communities, and the planet for generations to come. During COP31, Audubon will bring attention to the need for scaling natural climate solutions and responsibly advancing clean energy and transmission.

Across the Americas, Audubon and partners are putting science into practice to advance climate solutions that benefit birds, people, and the planet. We work with governments, communities, companies, and other partners to implement practices that increase access to affordable clean energy, conserve and restore forests, implement agricultural practices that sequester carbon, and restore ecosystems to enhance resilience. At COP31, Audubon experts and partners will highlight science-based approaches to climate action, including scaling forest restoration, other nature-based solutions, and responsibly planned clean energy. Through these efforts, Audubon will demonstrate how partnerships, policy, and on-the-ground experience across the Americas can help translate global climate commitments into meaningful progress.

Forests Forward: Catalyzing Momentum Towards the Global 2030 Forests Goal
Thursday, November 12, 10:00-11:00
WWF/IUCN Pavilion (Blue Zone)
New science is clear: forests can reduce global temperatures faster than any other climate solution. The world has committed to halting and reversing deforestation by 2030 and restoring ecosystems at scale. The UNEP Overshoot Report has made clear the urgency of this challenge. Only nature can sequester and store carbon at the scale needed to return to a 1.5 degree pathway. Come hear what new research says on the value of forests, and how governments, investors, companies, Indigenous peoples and communities are stepping forward to meet the urgency of the moment. What role will you play?

Powering a Clean Energy Future for Wildlife and People Across the Americas
Monday, November 16, 12:45-13:45
WWF/IUCN Pavilion (Blue Zone)
Protecting biodiversity from climate change demands rapid and responsible development of utility-scale renewables and a modernized, expanded grid. Like any large infrastructure project, clean energy development can impact wildlife. However, energy developers, conservation organizations, and government entities can minimize, avoid, and offset these impacts through upfront planning and a collaborative, science-based approach. Learn from experts about region-specific challenges, lessons learned, and how cooperative planning speeds up responsibly sited renewable and transmission projects, innovative technical solutions, and creative mitigation.

Climate Solutions at Scale: Nature Driving Mitigation and Resilience
Monday, November 16, 15:15-16:15
WWF/IUCN Pavilion (Blue Zone)
Nature-based solutions are a proven, low-risk climate technology that delivers mitigation, adaptation, and economic benefits at scale. Governments, Indigenous leaders, conservation organizations, and local communities are already successfully implementing solutions to reduce climate risk while supporting people and nature. Come explore examples from grassland restoration, Gulf Coast ecosystem recovery, and Indigenous-led conservation to learn how nature-based solutions can be integrated into land-use decisions, restoration strategies, and climate policy. Speakers will focus on how to scale successful models, including effective partnerships, supportive policies, long-term investment, and community leadership.

Forests Roadmap: From Milestone to Movement
Wednesday, November 18, 11:30-13:00
Official Side Event (Red Room)
Global leaders will speak to how the Forests Roadmap is catalyzing renewed efforts around the world to halt and reverse deforestation and global degradation and restore forests at scale. The Forests Roadmap is one important milestone; join the conversation on what comes next for the movement.
