The Village Voice recently put out its annual "Best of New York" issue. I was fortunate enough to participate in it but I'm not saying that to brag- I wanted to point out two noteworthy services that might interest readers here.
- Recycle-A-Bicycle: like it says, they take your old ones, refurbish them and them sell them. They also have youth programs and even turn some of the bike parts into jewelry (I've seen some and it's actually quite good!)
- Vision 42: For all of you pedestrians who think there's too much traffic out there, this group proposes shutting down 42nd Street to vehicles and having a light rail service there instead, just as they do in many other American and European cities.
