Supreme Court Strips Excuses For Epa Inaction On Global Warming

"Today's Supreme Court Decision in Massachusetts v. EPA leaves the administration with no excuse for failing to control the greenhouse gas pollutants that are disrupting the earth's climate and threatening the future of people and wildlife worldwide.

"The decision affirms the common-sense view that carbon dioxide is indeed a pollutant that the Environmental Protection Agency has the authority to regulate.

"The decision amounts to one more nail in the coffin of policy-by-denial. It should provide a real boost to the growing Congressional momentum to cap and reduce global warming pollution. Above all, it offers hope that America can move to address this serious problem while there's still time."

Audubon joined in an amicus brief in support of the victorious Massachusetts position.
