A native of Oakland, California, Alma currently resides in Summerville, South Carolina. Since her first visit to South Carolina, she has been amazed by the state’s unique beauty, wildlife and of course, the alligators! Alma received her undergraduate degree from Auburn University and Juris Doctor from New College of California School of Law. She previously worked for Audubon as the Center Manager for Audubon Center & Sanctuary at Francis Beidler Forest. Her most recent position prior to her return to Audubon was the role of Director of Inclusion and Community Partnerships for the North Cascades Institute. In her free time, Alma likes to brag about her award-winning author-daughter, as well as her son, who is the Adult Learning Manager at Bird Alliance of Oregon. Her son also began his environmental career at Audubon South Carolina!
