Anna brings nearly a decade of experience in coastal bird research and conservation to her role as Coasts Program Manager for Audubon Washington. Her education and career have taken her across the globe, most recently working with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, where she supported seabird and shorebird research and island conservation efforts across the Pacific. Prior to that, Anna managed community science programs with the University of Washington and supported bird-friendly communities initiatives and waterbird research as a Conservation Specialist for Houston Audubon. Anna’s research interests include improving waterbird monitoring efforts through the application of new technologies, including drones and machine learning. She is passionate about collaborating with partners and stakeholders to strengthen monitoring programs and conservation efforts that protect coastal bird species and the ecosystems they rely on. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, paddling, gardening, and spending time with friends, her husband, and their four perfect pets, as well as volunteering with a number of bird conservation organizations.
