Bridget Mulkerin is the Senior Manager of Climate Policy at Audubon California where she supports efforts to advance policies that benefit both people and birds. Bridget focuses on researching, developing, and implementing science-based policy positions that advance more equitable climate policies in California, supporting the state’s zero carbon pollution emissions goal by 2045. Her previous experiences include two AmeriCorps terms where she supported access to parks, outdoor education, urban tree nursery maintenance, and wetland restoration as well as a Peace Corps term in Senegal working on agroforestry and Let Girls Learn projects. From 2022-2025, Bridget worked at American Forests, where she developed the California Cone Corps program, which bolstered cross-boundary workforce along the reforestation pipeline. There, she supported seed sharing initiatives, contributed to training nearly 400 foresters in cone monitoring and collection facilitation, and worked with collaborators from NPS, CAL FIRE, USFS, BLM, Tribal communities, and the private sector to advance the pace and scale of reforestation and increase cone collections to reduce the state's seed deficit.
Bridget holds a BA in International Studies with minors in Peace and Justice and Environmental Studies from Fairfield University, and a MA in International Environmental Policy from the Middlebury Institute. Additionally, she works as a therapeutic horseback riding instructor and is working towards her PATH certification. Outside of work, Bridget enjoys gardening, beekeeping, and spending time with her partner and pup.
