Habitat and Private Lands Manager
About

Ed joined the staff in October 2015. He leads the conservation team by overseeing the planning and execution of on-site habitat management while also working with local landowners and resource professionals to promote conservation minded land stewardship in the region. Working directly with landowners, Ed helps them plan and execute prescribed burns as well as provides guidance on other land management techniques that benefit both the landowners and wildlife.

Originally from Omaha, Ed is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife emphasizing habitat management, and a minor in grassland ecology and management. Previously, he worked in the Wildlife Division on public lands in eastern Nebraska for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission conducting management on over 30, state-owned, Wildlife Management Areas.

A landowner with goals of eventually owning his own cattle, Ed further supports his local agricultural and wildlife communities by serving as president of the local TriCounty Prescribed Burn Association, habitat chair of the Saline County Chapter of Pheasants Forever, and serves on his local air quality board.
