Macy Beckman

Macy grew up in Mount Pleasant, SC and attended Eckerd College for Environmental Studies, Anthropology and Sustainability. She has spent many summers as a groundskeeper for a Mount Pleasant private estate with small cattle, and then in the summer of 2023 worked at an organic produce farm in Virginia. At Eckerd she was a co-head of the Garden Club and on the Eckerd College Community Farm crew. She was highly involved with the Office of Sustainability during her time at Eckerd, holding every position available, including recycling crew and bike shop crew. In her senior year she was the intern for the Director of Eckerd’s Office of Sustainability. This position gave her the opportunity and resources to create a native wetland habitat out of a drainage ditch as an Arbor Day event.
