I protect birds and the places they need to thrive by helping people of all experience levels discover just how wondrous birds really are. Whether I’m out on the trail with binoculars or helping with research at a banding station, my greatest joy comes from watching someone’s eyes light up when they learn something new that fills them with awe. That moment matters. The more you know about birds, the more you can’t help but love them—and the more you love them, the more you want to protect them. Sharing that spark of wonder is, I think, what I’m meant to do.
