Richard Covey

Richard first started as a seasonal at Beidler in 2009 leading guided walks, school programs, and canoe trips. As Beidler Forest's Center Coordinator Richard plans out most of the years programming, manages Beidler's volunteer team, and develops new programming like the wildly successful Firefly Nights program, which included spending many nights in the field surveying fireflies to determine the best times and locations. He also has a role in social media posts, merchandise and media design, and occasional critter wrangler when necessary. He enjoys creating fun and educational programs and events to help people reconnect with nature and overcome their misconceptions about native wildlife.
