Roslyn Rivas

Roslyn Rivas began working at Audubon in 2018 as Program Coordinator for the Plants For Birds program. In this role she has updated Audubon’s native plant database and constructed online toolkits on how to engage with local government to pass legislation on native plant use and protection. Roslyn later joined Audubon’s Science Division as part of the Community Science team where she processes data and updates instructional materials for Climate Watch. Since starting on the Science team, Roslyn has worked to make sure Audubon’s various Community Science programs reach wider and more diverse audiences.

Roslyn is passionate about diversity and inclusion in and out of the environmental justice movement. Founder of the Heritage Month Committee and a member of several Affinity Groups, Roslyn has worked to advance Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at Audubon by establishing heritage month celebrations and programming. Roslyn has a Bachelor’s Degree from Yale University where she majored in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. Her passion for wildlife conservation has led her to participate in field ecology programs such as the Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS) and work at the New York Botanical Garden before joining Audubon. When not at work, Roslyn enjoys being outdoors, playing sports, gushing about shows and films, and admiring people’s dogs.
