The Texas Roundup is a biennial convening that brings together Audubon chapter leaders, partners, and community members from across Texas to share successes, build skills, and coordinate local action that scales up to hemispheric conservation goals. The gatherings are a perfect blend of one part conference and one part family reunion, brimming with meaningful conversations, learning opportunities, and new connections.
The 2024 Texas Roundup united 70 participants from 10 chapters at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin to share practical and inspiring community projects—from habitat stewardship at Cedar Ridge Preserve in Dallas to community-driven mental health and birding programs in Laredo—alongside policy strategies for responsible renewable energy siting and community outreach approaches that introduce bird conservation activities to new audiences.
Our goal is clear: to bring together passionate individuals dedicated to birds and conservation and inspire them to keep working toward a future where birds thrive and people prosper. We connect local efforts to Audubon’s Flight Plan, protecting birds across their hemispheric ranges through a combination of on-the-ground habitat restoration, coordinated policy advocacy, and broad community engagement.
Across Texas, we’re inspired by the incredible work Audubon chapters are doing to cultivate the next generation of diverse bird enthusiasts—people who will help safeguard birds and the habitats they depend on today and into the future. We can’t wait to come together again for a vibrant and inspiring Texas Roundup in 2026.
